Funds are needed to cover lifesaving surgery for Misty.
TORI is a true survivor! This sweet, young mother showed up in the back yard of an F&F supporter in Los Angeles with her three 5-week old kittens in tow.
Arrangements were made to have the family accepted by the Pasadena Humane Society. However, 10 days into their stay, TORI suddenly developed what has been described by several vets as "the worst case of Calicivirus" they have ever seen and euthanasia was recommended. However, since we had previously nursed several cats with this common and treatable virus with the help of a feeding tube, the decision was made to transfer TORI to the VCA Specialty Hospital in West Los Angeles where she promptly had the life-saving surgery on July 16th.
After only a week in the care of the President of Felines & Friends Los Angeles, TORI started eating on her own! We hope to have the tube removed on July 29th and she will probably be available for adoption mid to late August. Her adorable kittens are clear of the virus and are available for adoption at the Pasadena Humane Society.
We need to raise $4,000 to cover the cost of her care at VCA [who provided a generous discount]. If you would like to help F&F continue its mission to provide second chances to special cats like TORI, please donate today.
It is with great sorry that we announce the passing of Barb Schubert. Barb leaves behind Big Boy and Joe, who need to be placed together. Their vet care can be provided for by Felines & Friends, as was Barb’s wish.
Barb was our friend for 15 years and a founding Board member of Felines & Friends. She will be greatly missed on so many levels. Barb knew she would be met at the Rainbow Bridge by her previous feline companions whom she loved so dearly
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to honor Barb is asked to make a donation to Felines & Friends to continue the mission of second chances to cats in need.
Come meet this sweet cat at Teca Tu @ DeVargas during store hours.

Felines & Friends New Mexico is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that
provides a no-kill community based haven for cats awaiting adoption.
Can you spare 4 hours on Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday once a month? Can you spare 1 hour per week? Do you have an extra room or space to foster a cat or litter of kittens?
Adding a furry member to your family can be very rewarding. We have cats and kittens of various ages available throughout the year.
The New Mexico Chapter of FELINES & FRIENDS was formed in 2001 and registered with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission in March 2002. In 2013 we became FELINES & FRIENDS NEW MEXICO.
FELINES & FRIENDS is an all-volunteer rescue and placement organization providing second chances for shelter cats in need of more time or vet care, kittens from Trap/Neuter/Return projects. We do not have a physical shelter and rely mainly on foster homes when cats are not on display at our Adoption Center located inside Petco on Cerrillos Rd, Santa Fe. However, cats who prefer not to be moved around, are housed at our boarding facility.
Raising funds to provide the best care for orphaned cats is an on-going concern. We do not receive any government funding. One hundred percent of our revenue is generated from adoption fees, grants, and donations. We are always seeking private and corporate benefactors.
FELINES & FRIENDS is a non-profit corporation registered and in good standing with the NM Secretary of State, NM Attorney General’s office, and the IRS.
City of Santa Fe Professional Animal Care Permit #19-002
As a "Second Chance" Organization, FELINES & FRIENDS NEW MEXICO works with the Santa Fe and Espanola shelters by accepting special needs cats, such as kittens who are too young for placement or need to be socialized, and adults who have health or behavioral issues, most of which can be resolved with loving attention and time.
We are proud to work with other shelters and rescue organizations to place as many animals as possible and give "second chances" to those with special needs. To date, we have found homes for over 4,000 cats and dogs thanks to the support of the Petco Foundation and people like you.
Please visit our Adoption Center located at Petco in Santa Fe during regular store hours. In addition, please come meet special cats at Teca Tu @ DeVargas.
